Life’s Fleeting Photo Exhibition
Eudaemonia, in its essence, refers to a state of fulfillment in one individual who has a life that goes well and is considered the ultimate goal of a meaningful life. In Epicurus’ version, he refines the theory with more intellectual aspects. His pursuit of pleasure rests on intellectual pleasure (also known as katastematic pleasure), that is, the absence of pain, and the pursuit of tranquility. And pain is often led by unnecessary desires, which, in his theory, could be minimized. This exhibition embedded my reflections on his theory and is a good reminder of how we humans could thrive so lively in little moments.
Gaze
On Independence Day, amid the parade’s frenzy, a pair of clear, piercing eyes slows time to a near halt. A tranquil current brushes the cheek, while muted tones intertwine black and white.
Glimmers on the Surface, Depths Within
Eyes that see beyond the surface reveal that every unique passerby carries stories worth grasping, some soaring to the skies, others reaching for distant tranquility.
The Curtain Rises
Walking forward against the light, each person reveals a multitude of shadows beneath the stage’s glow.
Solitary Under the Canopy
When I spot a lone figure on campus, I can’t help but watch. His loose tie, clean casual attire, and polished shoes remind me of distinct characters from film.
Like the Passersby
Actors in a play move gracefully, exchanging greetings and embraces, gazing out into the audience. In the streets, who would recognize that they are performers?
Attraction
Adults, children, the elderly—curiosity about the fountain seems greater than one might imagine.
A Moment of Pause in the Atmosphere
In the comfort of quiet conversation, a human warmth lingers; people unknowingly infect each other with a sense of immersion.
Always Walkin
People must move on; when everyone begins to step forward, perhaps time itself slows down.
